New entrance fee for Lembeh Strait

A new law will come into affect from 12 Feb 2010, whereby all visitors to Lembeh will have to pay a fee of Rp50,000. This works out as about €4, and will be valid for a stay up to 1 month.

Our guests do not need to do anything – we’ll buy the ticket for the fee from the Bitung Tourism Office (Bitung is the city where Lembeh Strait is situated), and then add this amount to the invoice.

We are currently working with the other dive operators in the area to make sure that the fee system is transparent, and we hope that some of the funds will be used for environmental projects.

New manager couple in Lembeh

A few weeks ago Helen & Gizmo arrived to take up their new jobs as managing our resort in Lembeh, and we would like to welcome them to the Two Fish family!

They are both experienced instructors, having spent alot of time in Thailand. In addition, Gizmo is a professional hotelier, starting out with the big hotel chains in London and europe before switching to the dive resort industry a few years ago.

We look forward to them helping us make our resort more professional, as well as expanding our services in Lembeh including nitrox fills and the full range of PADI courses.
