New PADI IDC Resort

June 22, 2007

We have just been notified that our application to become a PADI IDC Resort has been approved! This means that we are a facility that can run Instructor Development Courses (IDC’s), the 9-day courses that are necessary for anyone wanting to become a PADI Instructor.

Our aim is to run 2-3 IDC’s a year, and we have already planned our first IDC for September 2007. Both Nigel and Tina will be involved in teaching these IDC’s, and they will be led by our Course Director Brendon Sing. Brendon normally teaches at Lanta Divers in Koh Lanta, Thailand so he has alot of experience with IDC’s. “This is really exciting for us personally” says Nigel, “it moves us up the instructor ladder and we can get more experience with teaching instructors.”

Not resting there, Two Fish has hired a new instructor (start next week) to help with the non-professional courses like the Open Water and Advanced courses. The price of specialty dives is now only US$10/dive so we hope that more customers will take specialty courses and keep the new instructor busy!

Rebbeca’s first advanced course

June 7, 2007

Rebecca completed her learning for teaching the open water course a few days ago, and has just completed her learning to teach the advanced course with Connor. She might even be able to swim soon as her arm bands are for age 3 months onwards, so just 1 month go!

New cottage on Lembeh

June 6, 2007

Just had a recent trip to Lembeh and am pleased to report that we have started our new cottage there. Its going to be located at the end of the resort, away from the restaurant, so nice and quiet, and its going to have a great sea view. It should be finished by 1 July, and will give us alot more flexiblity in the high season as the 3-day trips to Lembeh are proving to be very popular with the guests in Bunaken.

Rebecca starts work!

June 6, 2007

Who says having a baby means that life has to stop? Tina finally gets to go back to diving after 9 months and Rebecca has no choice but to go to work with mum! During diving Rebecca hangs out at the back of the boat with her nanny, then chats to her first open water students, Natalia and Roberto. Rebecca is going to be a regular feature as Tina wants to continue diving, and Rebecca really loves being on the boat as well.
