Cottage Renovation on Bunaken

All our standard cottages are being renovated during the low season: the wooden walls are removed and then sanded, the wooden floor is repaired/sanded, and then all is put back together and re-varnished.

We are also extending the balconies so that there is even more space to swing in the hammock!

Its taking about 7-10 days per cottage, and we have already finished two cottages.

All the standard cottages should be finished in a few weeks, as you can see the final result is great!

Christmas Party on Bunaken

It was the turn of Two Fish Divers on Bunaken to host their XMas party on Mon 15 Dec. We had about 150 people, mostly our guests, our staff and their families.

An hour long service of songs included a carol sang by the kids of our staff, which was really good.

After the service, a huge buffet was served that consisted of mainly local dishes, this was a great hit by staff and guests alike.

Hot water on Bunaken

We installed our first hot water system into Standard Cottage 1. This is just a trial for now, we want to see how the loading on our electricity is affected. We installed a new & larger generator a few months ago but the power need of a hot water unit is very big and so can affect the rest of the resort.

If all goes well, we will be putting in hot water into Bunaken in the first quarter 2009. This will make night dives much more enjoyable!

Two Fish Divers Lembeh Christmas Party

On Monday, 09 December we had our annual Christmas Party at Two Fish Divers Lembeh Resort. To say that we had a “full house” would be an understatement – approximately 120 guests from nearby  Mawali village, from our Manado office, and from Two Fish Divers Bunaken Resort joined the festivities!

The church service was followed by a feast with tasty local foods, and music was provided by our own incredibly talented dive staff. Our kitchen was a hive of activity from early morning onwards, and helped by local ladies our kitchen staff managed to feed everyone, and a great day was enjoyed by all the staff, in-house guests and visitors.

New Two Fish Staff at Lembeh

We are pleased to welcome Sybille to the Two Fish team at our resort in Lembeh. She joined us on 5 Dec to look after the cottages, general facilities and resort staff.

Sybille has spent more than 20 years in the travel business and has dived all over Asia, and understands very well  what guests want from a resort.

“Having spent alot of  time as a muck-loving guest at Two Fish Divers in Lembeh, I am incredibly excited to start working here”, Sybille says, “My aim is to ensure that Two Fish is the best budget/mid-range dive resort in Lembeh Straits.”

New developments in Lembeh

As part of our renovations at our resort in Lembeh, we completed the new staff quarters end of Aug 2008 (see top right).

In early Sept we started refurbishing the budget rooms (see bottom), this will be completed by 1  Oct. We will then start to refurbish the dive center below the budget rooms and add a camera room, dry & wet equipment rooms, and a reception area. All this work should be finished by end-Oct 2008, so check out our web site after this time.
